This week's Weekly Drop looks at DJ Mag's gender gap, Music Week's Women In Music Awards, open funding, and this week's dance charts.
THE STORY OF THE WEEK
DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs 2026 results landed this week, and of the top ten, only one is a woman, Charlotte de Witte at No.6. The same week, Music Week's Women In Music Awards marked its twelfth year, with The Circle named as 2026's charity partner.
THE HEADLINES
Clara Amfo hosted Music Week's Women In Music Awards for its twelfth year on 9 October, with tables at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House selling out ahead of the ceremony.
Josh Baker became the highest new entry in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll, debuting at No.40 the same week his track made the UK dance chart.
Mike Pickering and Graeme Park played a secret Haçienda set in Walthamstow for Sarcoma UK, taking the charity series past £42,000 raised over four years.
LABEL SPOTLIGHT
Experts Only started as John Summit's own label and has grown into a proper event brand alongside it. This week its founder shares DJ Mag's Highest Climber title, up 22 places, a reminder that building your own platform alongside your music can pay off in ways a label deal alone sometimes doesn't.
OPEN NOW
PRS Foundation's Composers' Fund deadline has just been extended to 19 October, for composers across genres and career stages.
The PPL Momentum Music Fund offers £5,000 to £15,000 for emerging UK artists' touring, marketing and recording costs, with a deadline of 26 October.
The Music Export Growth Scheme's 26th round offers up to 50% match funding for labels taking an artist's campaign abroad, open now.
ON THE CHARTS
The Official UK Dance Singles Chart holds HUGEL, Imael Angel and Ultra Naté's Movin' to the Sun at No.1 for a third straight week, while ANOTR and 54 Ultra's Talk to You and Cloonee and Prospa's Good Girl both climb into the top five, proof the chart's middle ground is still shifting even while the top holds firm.
