Lara Marshall is an experienced music industry marketing consultant, label strategist, and the founder of Make Play Music. She brings over two decades of on-the-ground industry experience, built on an abiding passion for underground electronic and club culture.
Lara began her career as a label assistant at Multiply Records (Telstar's dance imprint) before specialising in electronic music campaigns for major labels (Warner Music, EMI), independent labels (Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels), and prominent management agencies.
For ten years, Lara headed client relationships and global marketing strategy at Above Board Distribution, where she oversaw rollouts and launches for hundreds of independent labels —including Peggy Gou's Gudu Records, Charlotte de Witte's KNTXT, Patrick Topping's Trick, and CircoLoco Records. Her recent work across global dance releases has generated over 200 million streams on Spotify.
Make Play Music was founded to give independent dance labels the focused, specialist attention they deserve through hands-on, culturally grounded marketing.
